Manni Sipre : Integrated Oxyfuel and Plasma Cutting Automation for Thick Plate Manufacturing

Manni Sipre is the sheet metal division of Gruppo Manni HP and one of Italy’s leading specialists in thick plate processing and subcontract cutting services. The company provides oxyfuel cutting, plasma cutting, drilling, marking, chamfering, and pre-machining services for construction, shipbuilding, boiler making, and mechanical engineering industries.

Before implementing Alma software, programming different cutting machines required separate processes and significant manual preparation. Manni Sipre needed a flexible system capable of handling oxyfuel cutting, plasma cutting, drilling, marking, and programmable bevel cutting while reducing preparation time and maintaining high cutting quality.

Since 2005, Act/Cut has become the central programming platform for Manni Sipre’s cutting operations. The software was customized by Alma Italia to incorporate the company’s specific oxyfuel cutting know-how, including specialized lead-ins, drilling sequences, multi-flame cutting macros, and automated part identification.

Act/Cut was integrated with the WinSTEEL production management system, creating a continuous digital workflow from order entry to workshop production. The integration eliminated manual data re-entry, reduced preparation time, and improved coordination between sales, production planning, and manufacturing.

Automatic nesting, customized cutting strategies, and integrated production management significantly improved programming productivity and material utilization. The software enabled operators to switch easily between machines while maintaining consistent programming quality across the entire cutting department.
